This project is part of a legacy of construction excellence built at a respected Nevada contractor, now carried forward by the Plenium Builders team.
Luxury, In Season
A record-setting surge in Lake Tahoe tourism prompted the team at Harrah’s to fast-track a 151-room upgrade and convention center refresh—without interrupting business. From suites to ballroom, every space received thoughtful updates under an intense 2.5-month schedule aimed at capitalizing on a high-demand winter season.
Every Room Counts
With the clock ticking toward a mid-December finish, the project began with a deep dive into scope, priorities, and phasing. Collaboration during preconstruction was key: rooms, corridors, restrooms, and ballroom upgrades had to align not only with budget goals, but with the resort’s ongoing operations. Plans were built from a combination of drawings, bid packages, and field review, with the team walking each space alongside the owner to verify constructability and logistics.
To stretch the available budget, the owner leveraged existing purchasing agreements for carpeting and wallcoverings, while construction crews coordinated installation schedules and field labor. Competitive bidding helped lock in subcontractor pricing in a shifting market, while clear communication around changes ensured steady progress across all areas.
Tight Turns and Full Bookings
Rather than shutting down entire floors, construction moved through blocks of guest rooms in rotation, closely coordinated with resort operations. Unexpected spikes in bookings, due in part to an early and heavy snowpack, added complexity. Room availability shifted daily, and the field crews responded in kind—moving materials at night, working during off-peak hours, and revisiting areas as needed to complete finish work.
Even with the logistical gymnastics, the team delivered on time. Upgrades included new lighting, plumbing fixtures, tub and shower surrounds, vanities, carpet, and wall treatments across guest suites and hallways. The final push included a complete demolition and remodel of the adjacent public restrooms and cosmetic updates to the convention center.
A Refined Arrival
Guests rooms have a crisp, modern feel, and the convention center hosts everything from ski-season galas to corporate retreats. Behind the scenes, a tight construction window, seamless owner coordination, and flexible field management made it all happen—on time and aligned with client priorities.
