A Civic Landmark, Reimagined for the Next Generation

Built Around the Legislative Calendar

Few public buildings in Nevada experience the intensity of activity found on our legislative campus. During session, lawmakers, staff, lobbyists, media, and members of the public all converge in one place, making access, circulation, and security essential to the building's success.

Construction planning centered on those realities. Interior improvements were completed in time to support the legislative session, while the overall project was carefully phased to respect the building's unique role in state government. Today, the completed facility provides a significantly improved experience for everyone who passes through its doors.

A Better Experience for the Public

Visitors now enter through a new, three-story, modernized west entrance designed to improve both security and accessibility. An enhanced screening area, an expanded lobby, intuitive wayfinding, and improved reception spaces create a more welcoming arrival while maintaining the level of security expected in a civic building.

New conference and briefing rooms provide much-needed flexibility for legislative business, while ADA-compliant restroom upgrades and a deli improve comfort and convenience for lawmakers, staff, and visitors during long days on campus.

Building Within an Active Government Campus

Success depended on careful coordination as much as construction expertise. Working within an occupied government complex required detailed planning for deliveries, staging, trade sequencing, and access. Limited space, heightened security, and ongoing public activity demanded constant communication between the project team, campus stakeholders, and design professionals.

A Lasting Civic Presence

The exterior renovation of the west face of the building replaces aging cladding with granite quarried from the Sierra Nevada range, creating a façade designed for generations of service. Along with courtyard and plaza improvements, the new western exterior presents a timeless architectural character that complements neighboring civic buildings while improving durability and long-term performance.

Built to Serve Nevada

From security and accessibility to meeting space and public amenities, the completed project strengthens how Nevada's legislative process functions while creating a more welcoming environment for everyone who comes to participate in state government. Plenium Builders is proud to have been a part of this historic transformation.
